LET US INTRODUCE OURSELVES

We have been involved in the hotel industry for over 30 years. With experience in both city and country style operations including General Manager of the 'Chateau Tongariro" for eight years. We are now fulfilling a long held ambition to own and manage my own boutique hotel.

My wife Christine and I share a deep love of the central North Island of New Zealand – plus a son who is passionately involved in ski racing! This led to us buying, refurbishing and launching Tussock Grove in January 2003.

Ohakune is a special place with wonderful walks through beech forests and alpine tundra, a range of mountain biking options, golfing, fishing, horse riding and fantastic skiing and snowboarding in the winter. I am a keen golfer and skier.

Christine and daughter, Louise (when home from Wellington), are avid runners who enjoy checking out all the forest tracks and trails.
We have a wide knowledge of activities and locations of interest – and genuinely enjoy helping our guests to make the most of it all.
